2023 Legion Baseball Regionals: Saturday roundup
Twenty teams remain in contention for 2023 American Legion Baseball regional titles entering Sunday’s final day after 16 games on Saturday. Sunday’s eight regional winners advance to the 96th American Legion World Series, Aug. 10-15 in Shelby, N.C.
Here’s the region-by-region roundup of results:
At Shrewsbury, Mass. (Post 397)
Game 12: Nashua (N.H.) Post 3 d. Cumberland (R.I.) Post 14, 5-4; Post 14 eliminated.
Winner and reliever Dominic Monico (1 1/3 innings, 2 strikeouts) and Derek Finlay (2 hits, game-winning 2-run triple) led Nashua, which trailed 3-2 until scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.
