Rounding up the first day of the 2023 American Legion Baseball regionals in which defending champion Troy, Ala., needed 10 innings to win its opening round game in the Mid-South Regional in Pelham, Ala.

Game 1: Ellsworth (Maine) Post 207 d. Nashua (N.H.) Post 3, 3-1.
Colin Sullivan’s 2-RBI single in the top of the third put Post 207 ahead for good.
Game 2: Essex (Vt.) Post 91 d. Greece (N.Y.) Post 468, 7-0.
Andrew Goodrich allowed just 1 hit over 5 innings to pick up the win.
Game 3: Franklin (Mass.) Post 75 d. West Hartford (Conn.) Post 96, 2-1 in 9 innings.
Brendan Sancaj followed up his fourth-inning sacrifice fly with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth for Post 75.
Game 4: Cumberland (R.I.) Post 14 d. Shrewsbury (Mass.) Post 397, 4-3.
Post 14 scored on two errors in the bottom of the fourth then held off Post 397 for the victory.
