SHELBY, N.C.— Medford (Ore.) Post 15's Jordan Ragan pitched eight strong innings, and teammate Micah Brown tripled and later scored in the bottom of the seventh inning, leading their team to a 3-2 win over two-time defending American Legion World Series champ Brooklawn (N.J.) Post 72.

Brooklawn (44-6), which had won six straight ALWS games, had battled back to tie things at 2 in the top of the sixth.

Ragan allowed six hits and struck out eight batters for the Mustangs (42-13). Teammate Cody Coggins got the final three outs to pick up the save.
